Apple has announced that customers in the United States can now connect with an Apple Specialist via live video sessions when shopping for an iPhone on the company’s online store. This new service allows customers to learn about the latest iPhone models, features, switching to iOS, trade-in offers, carrier deals, and financing options.
The service, called “Shop with a Specialist over Video”, is available every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific Time on the Shop iPhone page of Apple’s website. During the one-way session, customers can view the retail employee on camera sharing their screen, but the employee will not be able to see the customer. Apple guarantees that the video session is safe and secure for all parties involved.
The new service is part of Apple’s efforts to enhance the online shopping experience for its customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers can now get the same level of personalized assistance that they would receive in a physical store while staying in the comfort and safety of their homes.
Karen Rasmussen, the head of Apple’s online store, said, “With Shop with a Specialist over Video, our team members are excited to connect with customers and provide exceptional service as they learn about which iPhone best suits them”.
