Apple has once again been named one of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies” by Ethisphere, a company that promotes ethical business practices. The list recognizes organizations that are committed to business integrity and comprises 135 companies spanning 19 countries and 46 industries.
The honorees include eight first-time recipients and six organizations that have been named to the list 17 times, marking every year since its inception. This year, it is the second time that Apple has been included in the prestigious list.
Ethisphere’s evaluation and selection process for the World’s Most Ethical Companies involves a proprietary rating system known as the corporate Ethics Quotient (EQ). The EQ framework features more than 200 multiple-choice and text questions that capture a company’s performance in an objective, consistent, and standardized way.
The rating system assesses a company’s performance in five key categories: governance, leadership & reputation, culture of ethics, ethics & compliance program, and environmental & social impact. All applicants receive their overall EQ score and scores in all five categories, which are compared against the honorees.
Apple has a long-standing reputation for ethical business practices and is committed to sustainability and environmental initiatives. The company’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and increase the use of renewable energy in its operations have been widely recognized.
In addition, Apple’s supply chain is regularly audited to ensure compliance with labor and human rights standards. The company has also made significant investments in education and workforce development, promoting diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
