Apple Pay has been expanding its reach around the world, making it easier for iPhone and Apple Watch users to pay in stores, apps, and websites using their devices. Earlier this year, Apple Pay expanded to South Korea in partnership with Hyundai Card. Now, the company is launching the service in Guatemala and El Salvador, in partnership with local banks Banco Promerica and BAC Credomatic.
To use Apple Pay in Guatemala and El Salvador, Banco Promerica and BAC Credomatic customers can add any VISA and Mastercard credit and debit cards to their Apple Pay account. To add a new card, users can go to the Wallet app on their iPhone or the Settings app on their iPad or iPad. Apple Watch users can complete the process through the Watch app.
It is important to have the latest version of the operating system installed on the device to ensure that Apple Pay works seamlessly with the latest banks added to the platform. It is also recommended to install the latest version of the bank’s app.
In stores, Apple Pay users can simply hold their device near the credit and debit card reader to complete a transaction. The feature is also available for online payments on apps and websites, and is compatible with iPad and Mac.
