Apple users in South Korea can now rejoice as Apple Pay is finally set to launch in the country after years of waiting. In an official announcement, Apple revealed that it would support in-store, in-app, and online purchases.
The announcement came as part of the press release for the latest iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, which also stated that the company is “about to launch” Apple Pay in South Korea. Korean users will be able to enjoy easy, fast, and secure payments using Apple Pay on their iPhones, including the new iPhone Yellow, as well as on online merchants and apps.
Despite the exciting news, there is still no official launch date for Apple Pay in South Korea. Originally, Apple Pay was expected to launch in South Korea in November 2022. However, the launch was delayed due to demands from the local regulator Financial Supervisory Service Commission (FSS).
