Apple has recently launched the iOS 16.4.1 update, which has prompted the tech giant to stop signing iOS 16.4, the previously available version of the operating system. What does this mean for Apple users? It means that if you have upgraded to iOS 16.4.1, you will no longer be able to revert back to iOS 16.4.
This move by Apple is routine, as the company typically stops signing older versions of iOS after new releases come out. The goal is to encourage customers to keep their operating systems up-to-date with the latest security patches, features, and bug fixes. Therefore, it is not surprising that iOS 16.4 is no longer being signed.
iOS 16.4 was a significant update that introduced several new features and improvements to the operating system. It added new emoji characters, Safari Web Push Notifications, and changes to the beta opt-in method. Additionally, iOS 16.4 brought back the classic Apple Books page-turning animation, included new HomeKit architecture and introduced new features for Shortcuts.

On the other hand, iOS 16.4.1 is a minor bug fix update that addresses some issues that were present in the previous version. This update is the current publicly available version of iOS. However, Apple is already working on the next update, iOS 16.5, which is currently being tested by developers and public beta testers.
