Apple TV+ has renewed its hit show “The Morning Show” for a fourth season, ahead of the release of its highly anticipated third season. Reports suggest that a fifth season could also be on the cards.
Starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who also serve as executive producers, “The Morning Show” offers a behind-the-scenes look at a network’s morning news broadcast and the personalities and customs that shape it. The show is inspired by Brian Stelter’s book “Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV”.
New additions to the cast in the upcoming third season include Nicole Beharie, Stephen Fry, Jon Hamm, and Tig Notaro. Witherspoon has revealed that Hamm’s character, media mogul Paul Marks, will give Billy Crudup’s Cory Ellison a “run for his money”.
Despite their contracts coming to an end after season three, Aniston and Witherspoon are reportedly in talks with Apple to continue their involvement in the show for seasons four and five. The news of the renewal has been met with excitement from fans of the series, who have been eagerly awaiting the premiere of the third season.
While Apple has yet to reveal a specific release date for season three, it is expected to premiere in the fall of 2022. Mimi Leder directs and executive produces the show, with production handled by Media Res, Hello Sunshine, and Echo Films. Michael Ellenberg, Kristin Hahn, and Lauren Neustadter also serve as executive producers.
As “The Morning Show” continues to captivate audiences with its insightful portrayal of the world of morning television, fans will undoubtedly be eager for news of further renewals in the future.
