Apple is reportedly working on new software updates that would allow users to pair their Apple Watch with multiple Apple devices, according to a recent rumor. Currently, Apple Watch users can only pair their device with one iPhone, though it is possible to pair multiple Apple Watch models with the same iPhone. However, there is no feature that allows users to pair or sync Apple Watches with other Apple devices in its ecosystem, such as the iPad or Mac.
This could all be about to change, however. According to a Twitter user who has previously leaked accurate information about the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple is planning to make changes to the pairing and syncing process for the Apple Watch. The update would reportedly mean that an Apple Watch would no longer be tied to a single iPhone and would instead be able to sync across multiple iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
The leaker admits they don’t know how this will be implemented, but it’s possible that iCloud syncing could be used, similar to how AirPods work across devices. It’s unclear whether this means that an iPhone will still be required for setting up an Apple Watch before it can sync with other Apple devices logged into the same iCloud account.
It’s also unclear when this change will come into effect. The leaker says they don’t know whether it will be included in this year’s updates, which are watchOS 10, iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS 14, or if it will be held over until 2024.
The ability to pair and sync Apple Watches across multiple devices would be a significant improvement for Apple Watch users, allowing them to switch seamlessly between devices without the need to constantly pair and unpair their watch. It would also make the Apple Watch a more versatile device, allowing it to be used with a wider range of Apple products.

While the leaker has a good track record with leaks, there’s no guarantee that this information is accurate. Apple is notoriously secretive about its plans, and it’s possible that this feature may not be included in any upcoming updates. Nonetheless, this rumor has generated excitement among Apple fans, who are eagerly anticipating the company’s next move.
