Apple is set to make some significant changes to its watchOS operating system, with the upcoming watchOS 10 update being touted as the biggest software update since the Apple Watch was first launched in 2015. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that the new update will include “major” changes and “bigger enhancements,” along with a refreshed interface.
Apple will announce watchOS 10 alongside other software updates during its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote on June 5. This event is typically used to showcase Apple’s latest software updates and new products, and watchOS 10 is expected to be a major focus this year.
While Gurman did not provide any specific details on the new features and changes in the update, he did reveal that minimal hardware changes are planned for the next Apple Watch models. This suggests that Apple is placing a significant emphasis on improving the software experience for its users.
The first watchOS 10 beta is expected to be made available to members of the Apple Developer Program shortly after the WWDC keynote. Apple typically releases a public beta version of its software updates a few weeks later, so consumers can expect to get their hands on the new watchOS 10 update in July through Apple’s free Beta Software Program.
