According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is developing an all-new smart home device that will rival products like the Meta Portal.
This device will be similar to an iPad and will be able to control HomeKit accessories and make FaceTime calls. The device could be mounted on walls or other areas in the home using magnets.
This new device is expected to be a low-end iPad, built specifically for controlling home appliances, lights, and other smart home accessories. It will also be able to play videos and make FaceTime calls.
This is not the first time Bloomberg has reported on Apple’s development of a smart home control device that combines an iPad-like display with a HomePod, similar to Amazon’s Echo Show.
The report suggests that Apple is planning to launch this new smart home device next year, possibly alongside an upgraded Apple TV set-top-box with a faster processor.
