Apple’s Beats by Dr. Dre has unveiled a special edition in collaboration with Fragment Design, marking their third partnership. The new device, set to hit the shelves on July 7, 2023, will be available for purchase on Apple’s online store and select retailers.
Hiroshi Fujiwara, the lead designer at Fragment Design, expressed his excitement about the collaboration in a statement to Hypebeast. “I am thrilled to bring this third collaboration with Beats to life,” he said. Fujiwara also added that the special edition offers a fresh take on an already dynamic product, showcasing a classic design with an elevated touch.
The special edition Beats headphones boast a monochromatic aesthetic, with two color options available: Pure White with black markings or Ink Black with white markings. Priced at $199.99, these headphones come with a monochrome advertisement featuring Frances Tiafoe, a prominent US tennis player, and have been released by Apple.
This release follows the introduction of the Beats Fit Pro in new color variants earlier this year. The Beats Fit Pro is priced at $199.
Moreover, Tuesday’s announcement serves as a prelude to the highly anticipated Beats Studio Pro, which has been the subject of numerous rumors. The Beats Studio Pro is rumored to support Apple’s Find My feature and feature spatial audio, along with upgraded “voice targeting microphones.” Apple is expected to provide a new carrying case for the headphones, which will also include optimized sound profiles known as Beat Signature Entertainment and Conversation.
