Apple’s Beats Studio Buds+ has made an unexpected appearance at the Best Buy store, according to a photo shared by tech enthusiast and former leaker Ben Geskin. The photo shows the earbuds’ box, confirming that they will come with a transparent design option similar to the Nothing Ear (2) earbuds, as well as a longer 36-hour battery life with the included USB-C charging case.
Although Beats has not officially announced the Studio Buds+, they briefly appeared on Amazon last month with a May 18 release date and a price tag of $169.95. The listing also revealed that the earbuds will feature 3x larger microphones and up to 1.6× as much active noise cancellation as the original Studio Buds that were launched in 2021.
The Beats Studio Buds+ is touted as a sportier alternative to the AirPods Pro, with a more compact design that does not feature the “stems” that drop below the ears. The earbuds will come in Black and Ivory color options, according to the Amazon listing, and will feature IPX4-rated water resistance. The earbuds will be available with XS, S, M, and L ear tip size options to fit a wider range of ears.
The Beats Studio Buds+ were first discovered in iOS 16.4 code last month, and they have also appeared in FCC filings and other regulatory databases around the world.
