Beats by Dre, the popular subsidiary of tech giant Apple, has finally unveiled its much-anticipated update to the Beats Studio Buds. After months of speculation and leaks, the Beats Studio Buds+ has arrived, boasting improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency modes, along with a striking transparent color option.
First introduced in June 2021, the original Beats Studio Buds quickly gained a loyal following. Now, nearly two years later, the upgraded version is here to elevate the audio experience to new heights.
Visually, the Beats Studio Buds+ maintain the sleek and compact design of their predecessors. With a silicone tip that fits snugly in the ear canal, these earbuds bear a resemblance to Apple’s popular AirPods Pro. In fact, they can be conveniently stored in a charging case, now available in a captivating transparent variant.
One of the standout features of the Beats Studio Buds+ is their enhanced ANC and Transparency capabilities. Users can effortlessly reduce environmental noises or allow the outside world to seep in, depending on their preference. Beats claim that these modes have been significantly improved, with a 1.6x boost for ANC and a 2x enhancement for Transparency, thanks to the integration of 3x larger microphones.
Interestingly, Apple continues to utilize its proprietary Beats processor for the Beats Studio Buds+. While this chip differs from the H2 chip found in Apple’s AirPods Pro, it offers broader compatibility, catering to both Android and Apple users. However, some Apple ecosystem features are absent in favor of ensuring a seamless experience across various platforms.

With ANC activated, they deliver approximately 5 hours of continuous usage, which extends to 8 hours when ANC is disabled. Nevertheless, the included charging case offers a total battery life of up to 36 hours, ensuring that users can enjoy their music for extended periods without interruption.
The Beats Studio Buds+ are set to hit the shelves on May 17, with a price tag of $169.95. In addition to the transparent option, they are available in classic black and ivory color variants. Whether you’re an Android or Apple user, these earbuds promise an immersive audio experience that transcends boundaries and caters to the needs of all music enthusiasts.
