Microsoft has announced new Bing, Skype, and Edge apps for iOS featuring chat-based AI-powered search capabilities. The redesigned Bing mobile app boasts an overhauled look and a new chat experience.
Users can tap on the Bing icon to open a chat session where they can ask the Bing chatbot questions, from simple to complex, with answers displayed as bullet points, text, or simplified responses.
The app also includes voice-based search capabilities and can perform creative tasks like crafting a poem or creating a quiz. The Bing experience is also available from the homepage of the Microsoft Edge mobile app.
Microsoft is also revamping the Skype app for iOS to add AI-powered Bing search. Users can add Bing to their group to provide information for group travel planning or simply share information with friends. The app features Bing integration to provide “helpful and fun new scenarios and capabilities“.
The updated apps are available worldwide in a preview capacity for those on the Bing preview experience. Microsoft says there could be hiccups related to bandwidth for a few days, but it is working on a fix. The company is still rolling out Bing preview access “as fast as possible” with a waitlist available.
