Apple TV+ premiered its latest original series, “Extrapolations”, in Los Angeles, ahead of its streaming debut on March 17, 2023. The eight-episode climate change drama, created by writer and director Scott Z. Burns, boasts an all-star cast and crew, including Kit Harington, Sienna Miller, Tobey Maguire, Heather Graham, Diane Lane, and Judd Hirsch.
The series is an anthology, with eight interwoven stories that explore the impact of climate change on everyday life. The episodes were written by Burns, Rajiv Joseph, Bess Wohl, Ron Currie, and the writing team of Dorothy Fortenberry & Diane Ademu-John. Author Dave Eggers also contributed a story for one of the episodes.
“‘Extrapolations’ is a bracing limited series that introduces a near future where the chaotic effects of climate change have become embedded into our everyday lives,” Apple said in a statement. “Every story is different, but the fight for our future is universal”.
The world premiere of “Extrapolations” was held at the Hammer Museum in LA, where Burns and the cast walked the red carpet. The series has been highly anticipated since Apple TV+ first announced it was working on the project in 2020.
