Leaked iPhone 15 Pro CAD models have given us a glimpse at what to expect from Apple’s flagship 2023 device. According to 9to5Mac, the device is set to feature thinner bezels and a new curve design, among other features. These models were created by 3D artist Ian Zelbo and based on CAD files provided by a “reliable case manufacturer“.
One of the biggest changes is the replacement of the Lightning Connector with USB-C, as many rumors have suggested. Additionally, the curvature of the edges on both the glass and the metal frame has changed compared to the iPhone 14 Pro, making for a more seamless transition and potentially more comfortable to hold.
The camera bump on the back is also thicker than before, hinting at an upgraded camera system with new sensors or lenses. The CAD files also suggest the iPhone 15 Pro will feature solid-state volume buttons, although this cannot be confirmed based on the renders alone.
The design of the iPhone 15 Pro takes cues from Apple’s latest MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models, with a more curved frame that resembles the design of these devices. This could make the phone more comfortable to hold and less prone to accidental touches.
While these CAD models are not official, they do give us a good idea of what to expect from Apple’s next Pro-series iPhone. We’ll have to wait until September 2023 to see if these predictions come true.
