The Apple iPhone 3Gs (3rd Generation) is a smartphone designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple from 2009 to 2012 as part of the iPhone series. The next generation of the iPhone was introduced on June 8, 2009, and its price started at $199.
The iPhone 3Gs features GPS, 3G data capability, an 600 MHz Samsung ARM Cortex A8 processor, a 3.5″ multi-touch LCD Display, two colors; Black and White, 8 GB / 16 GB or 32 GB of flash memory, 256 MB of RAM, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 3.0 Mpix camera with Video recording, accelerometer, Digital compass, Dock connector, 3.5-mm headphone jack, and 5 hours of talk time on 3G and 12 hours on 2G.
During the launch keynote, Apple mentioned that “S” in the name “3Gs” stands for speed. The smartphone has been improved in terms of performance. Apart from the appearance of the iPhone 3G body, this model is completely different. The company has introduced a number of changes and improvements that can be seen at first glance.
iPhone 3Gs were released in the United States, Canada, and six European countries on June 19, 2009, in Australia and Japan on June 26, and internationally in July and August 2009.
On June 24, 2010, an 8GB model was released, discontinuing the 16 and 32GB models.
This iPhone was discontinued on September 12, 2012, and replaced by iPhone 4. Today iPhone 3Gs is 15 years old!
