Apple has recently updated its collection of iWork apps, including Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, to support the new hover mode of the Apple Pencil and provide various other improvements and bug fixes. These updates come after Apple released its latest operating systems, iOS 16.4 and macOS Ventura 13.3, along with other releases.
The new Apple Pencil hover mode is an exclusive feature for the iPad Pro models released in 2022. It allows users to preview how the brush looks on a page based on thickness and opacity, while also accounting for tilt and azimuth to show how the angle of the Pencil affects the drawn line. This feature is designed to make it easy to navigate, write, sketch, and illustrate with greater precision on supported iPad models.
In addition to the new Apple Pencil hover mode, the iWork updates also include improvements and bug fixes for collaboration activities. Users can now export and send a copy of their spreadsheets, documents, and presentations in a different format right from the Share menu.
The Numbers for Mac update includes improved performance for large spreadsheets on Mac computers with Apple silicon. The iOS app for Numbers doesn’t include new features other than Apple Pencil Hover, improvements, and bug fixes for collaboration, and sending copies of spreadsheets in a different format through Share Sheet. Numbers for iPhone and iPad require iOS or iPadOS 15.4, while the Mac app needs macOS 12.3 or later.

These updates are all part of Apple’s ongoing efforts to improve the user experience and provide more functionality for its users.
