Newly surfaced images of pre-release accessories have provided a glimpse into the design changes expected in the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models. According to leaked images, the iPhone 15 Pro will feature repositioned power and volume buttons, a new mute button, and a larger bottom cutout to accommodate the USB-C port. These design alterations, combined with other rumored updates, are generating anticipation for Apple’s fall launch event.

Images shared on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging platform, have shed light on the subtle design modifications of the iPhone 15 Pro. A comparison between the iPhone 15 Pro and its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro, reveals that the power and volume buttons will be positioned slightly lower on the device. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro’s transition from the Lightning port to the USB-C port necessitates a slightly larger cutout at the bottom of the device.
Arguably the most noticeable change depicted in the leaked images is the inclusion of a new mute button. Set to replace the traditional mute switch above the volume buttons, this button offers a more compact design. Unlike its predecessor, which required users to grip it from the side and slide it across, the new mute button is smaller and utilizes a smaller cutout. It is also expected to serve as a versatile Apple Watch Ultra-style Action Button, enabling users to execute functions such as running Shortcuts, in addition to toggling mute.
Another accessory shared by Twitter user “Majin Bu” hints at potential upgrades in the camera and microphone departments. This leaked case suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro will boast larger camera lenses and an enlarged microphone. While the accessory also retains allowances for a unified volume rocker, this particular design change might not make its way to this year’s release.
Beyond the aforementioned alterations, various other design updates are rumored to be on the horizon for the iPhone 15 Pro models. Apple enthusiasts can expect a titanium chassis, slightly curved front and rear edges, slimmer bezels, and a thicker camera array. These enhancements, combined with the repositioned buttons and the new mute button, are poised to create an enticing package for consumers.
