Mark Gurman, renowned tech journalist and analyst at Bloomberg has thrown his weight behind the swirling rumors that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will sport larger display sizes. In the latest edition of his widely followed “Power On” newsletter, Gurman corroborated previous reports suggesting that Apple is planning to increase the size of its two flagships “Pro” iPhone models by “a couple of tenths of an inch diagonally.” If these reports hold true, the upcoming iPhones would boast the largest displays ever seen on an iPhone.
Gurman’s analysis highlights that this move by Apple aims to enhance the competitiveness of its high-end smartphones against rival devices, particularly those offered by Samsung. By offering larger screens, Apple could potentially attract consumers who prioritize a spacious and immersive visual experience. Furthermore, the increased display sizes may allow for more internal space within the devices, which could pave the way for improved hardware components such as advanced camera technology and larger batteries.
This recent development aligns with the findings of renowned display analyst Ross Young, who claimed back in May that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max would feature 6.3- and 6.9-inch displays, respectively. This represents a modest increase of approximately 0.2 inches compared to their predecessors. Notably, this rumor gained further support when prominent Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and the Twitter leaker known as “Unknownz21” also chimed in, providing alleged internal model numbers for the forthcoming devices.
It is worth noting that the rumored increase in display size will likely be exclusive to the “Pro” models, with the standard iPhone 16 variants expected to retain their current screen dimensions. Apple’s decision to reserve this enhancement for its high-end lineup emphasizes the company’s commitment to differentiating the Pro models as the pinnacle of iPhone technology.

While it’s essential to approach rumors with a level of skepticism until official confirmation is provided, the consensus among industry insiders is increasingly pointing toward a larger display experience on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. As Apple enthusiasts eagerly await the official unveiling, it appears that the company is striving to deliver a visual feast that can rival its fiercest competitors in the smartphone market.
