Apple fans can look forward to a host of new features and changes in the upcoming iOS 17 update, according to a recent Weibo post by a reliable leaker who also accurately predicted the Yellow iPhone 14 release. While the information shared is not confirmed, it does provide an interesting glimpse into what iOS users may expect from the new update.
Some of the potential features listed in the post include font size options for the Lock Screen, a button to share custom Lock Screen designs with other iPhone users, and the ability to view Apple Music lyrics on the Lock Screen. The post also suggests that Apple Music will undergo design changes with a simplified interface, while the App Library will allow users to manually rename folders. Finally, Control Center will receive design changes, including a flashlight brightness slider that can be freely adjusted like the volume slider.
While none of these changes are groundbreaking, they would still be meaningful improvements to the iOS experience. Overall, rumors suggest that iOS 17 will be a modest update focused on stability and performance enhancements.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also weighed in on what he expects from iOS 17. Gurman suggested that the update will include improvements to the Find My and Wallet apps, but is unlikely to introduce “major new features” like the customizable Lock Screen introduced in iOS 16.
