Apple is set to release the third generation of its popular Apple Watch SE next year, according to a report by Omdia analyst David Hsieh. The new wearables will reportedly boast larger displays to match the size of the current-generation Apple Watch Series 8.
Hsieh suggests that with the new release, Apple will increase the size of the displays on the models from 40mm and 44mm on the current Apple Watch SE to 41mm and 45mm, by adopting the same slimmer bezels as the Apple Watch Series 8.
Apple last updated the Apple Watch SE in 2022 with minor updates and a new, more affordable price compared to the original model. The upcoming third-generation model is expected to feature more significant upgrades, including larger displays, but Hsieh did not speculate on what other changes Apple may make.
The Apple Watch SE has become a popular option for those who want many of the features of the pricier Apple Watch Series but at a more affordable price point. The SE model includes features such as GPS, a heart rate sensor, and fitness tracking capabilities.
Apple’s recent focus on health and fitness has been a driving force behind the popularity of the Apple Watch. The company has introduced new features such as blood oxygen monitoring and an ECG app, which can help users stay on top of their health and wellness.
