Apple enthusiasts have reason to get excited as rumors of a sixth-generation iPad Air are making the rounds. According to renowned Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is actively working on a mid-range tablet, as mentioned in his latest Power On newsletter. However, the exact release date of this highly anticipated model remains shrouded in mystery.
Gurman’s insights suggest that Apple may unveil the first Macs equipped with the powerful M3 chip as early as October. However, he believes that the iPad lineup won’t see any significant upgrades this year. While an iPad Air with improved specs may not qualify as a major upgrade, it remains uncertain whether the device will receive an update later in 2023 or if Apple intends to launch it in 2024.
In his newsletter, Gurman shared, “For those wondering about the iPad — another product that typically gets refreshed in October — I wouldn’t expect any major upgrades until the M3 iPad Pros with OLED screens arrive next year.” He did mention the development of an iPad Air model that enhances its specifications but refrained from divulging further details.
Apple last updated the iPad Air in March 2022, introducing notable improvements such as the M1 chip, an upgraded 12-megapixel front camera supporting Center Stage, a faster USB-C port, 5G compatibility for cellular models, and a range of fresh color options. The entry-level price for the iPad Air in the United States starts at $599 for 64GB of storage.
While the specifics of the upcoming iPad Air remain under wraps, tech enthusiasts and Apple aficionados speculate about the potential enhancements. One possibility is the inclusion of the highly anticipated M2 chip, known for its exceptional performance.

Apple may also introduce a fresh array of captivating color options to appeal to consumers’ personal style preferences.
