Apple TV+ has released the full official trailer for the highly anticipated third season of Ted Lasso, and it looks like fans are in for another wild ride. The popular comedy series is set to premiere on March 15th, and the new trailer gives us a glimpse into what to expect in the upcoming season.
Season three sees AFC Richmond returning to the English Premier League, but with low expectations. The team is expected to finish last in the table, which sets the stage for some intense drama on and off the field. In the absence of Nate, who is now working with rival team West Ham United, Roy Kent steps up as the new assistant coach for AFC Richmond, working alongside Coach Beard.
Meanwhile, Ted Lasso must continue managing the team while dealing with his own personal issues at home. Rebecca is determined to beat Rupert’s team in any way possible, while Keeley is busy running her own PR agency. It’s clear that the characters are facing new challenges, both on and off the field.
The trailer was released earlier this month on Valentine’s Day, but Apple has since pulled it, likely because it was published to YouTube slightly too soon. Despite the mishap, fans are still eagerly anticipating the show’s return.
It’s currently unclear whether Ted Lasso will continue beyond the third season. Apple has not confirmed or denied rumors that the show will continue in some capacity, after earlier comments from Jason Sudeikis suggested that the show would conclude at the end of the planned three-season story arc.
Season three of Ted Lasso premieres on March 15th, which is a Wednesday – a first for Apple TV+ scripted fare. New episodes will be released weekly every Wednesday through May 31st, making the show eligible for this year’s Emmy awards. Apple will be hoping to continue its streak of back-to-back Outstanding Comedy Series accolades.
Ted Lasso has been a critical and commercial success since its debut in 2020, with its feel-good story and lovable characters winning over audiences around the world. The show has been praised for its heartwarming humor, and it’s clear that fans can’t wait to see what season three has in store.
