Apple continues its push into the Indian market with the opening of its second store in the country, located in the Saket neighborhood of New Delhi. The opening ceremony was attended by CEO Tim Cook and retail head Deirdre O’Brien, who were also present at the opening of the first Apple Store in India just two days prior in Mumbai.
The opening of these two stores marks a significant achievement for Apple in India, where the company had faced regulatory hurdles in opening its single-brand stores. Under Indian law, a company must manufacture 30% of its products within the country before it can open a single-brand store, a requirement that had been specifically designed to target tech giants like Apple.
After extensive negotiations with the Indian government, Apple finally received the go-ahead to open its stores in India. The company’s commitment to high-tech manufacturing in India was a key factor in this decision, with Apple’s presence expected to stimulate further growth in the sector.
The new Apple Saket store features a uniquely designed curved storefront, which leads into a space that showcases Apple’s products and accessories on white oak tables. A feature wall manufactured in India adds a touch of local flavor to the store’s interior.

For customers in India, the opening of these two Apple Stores is a welcome development, providing them with access to Apple’s products and services in a physical retail setting. As Apple continues to invest in the Indian market, we can expect to see further expansion of the company’s retail presence in the country.
