Apple has just announced the release of watchOS 9.4 to the public, bringing several new features to the Apple Watch. Among the highlights of the new update is the introduction of Cycle Tracking in more countries and the addition of AFib History in several others.
One of the standout features of watchOS 9.4 is the expansion of Cycle Tracking to more countries, including Moldova and Ukraine. This feature allows users to track their menstrual cycles and receive alerts for cycle deviations. The update also includes retrospective ovulation estimates, which can help users plan for pregnancy.
In addition, watchOS 9.4 brings AFib History to several new countries, including Colombia, Malaysia, Moldova, Thailand, and Ukraine. This feature provides users with long-term visibility into the duration of their AFib symptoms, which can be helpful for discussing treatment options with their doctor.
Another improvement in watchOS 9.4 is the change to the wake-up alarm feature. The cover-to-mute gesture will no longer silence alarms during sleep, preventing accidental cancellations.

To install the update, users can simply open the iOS Watch app, go to General, and then select Software Update. The on-screen instructions will guide them through the process.
To successfully install any update, users must ensure their Apple Watch is at least 50% charged and docked on a charger near their iPhone. If automatic updates are enabled, the update will be downloaded and installed while the watch is charging overnight.
