The Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch Late 2007 is a noteworthy notebook computer produced by Apple Inc. during the period from 2007 to 2008 as part of its renowned MacBook Pro line. Unveiled on November 1, 2007, this model carried a starting price tag of $2,749.

Equipped with a 2.4 GHz “Core 2 Duo” processor boasting two independent cores, a 4 MB shared on-chip level 2 cache, and an 800 MHz frontside bus, the Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.4 15-inch model also boasted 2.0 GB of 667 MHz PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM and a 160 GB (5400 RPM) hard drive featuring “Sudden Motion Sensor” technology.

Additionally, it included an 8X dual-layer DVD RW/CD-RW SuperDrive and an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor with 256 MB of GDDR3 SDRAM and dual-link DVI functionality. One of its standout features was the introduction of the mercury-free power-efficient LED-backlit 15.4″ widescreen 1440×900 display, available in both matte and glossy TFT active-matrix variants.

Externally, the 15-inch MacBook Pro Late 2007 models closely resembled their predecessors, featuring attributes such as the fiber-optic-based ambient light sensor for adjusting keyboard illumination and screen brightness, a scrolling TrackPad, and the MagSafe power connector. Connectivity options included an ExpressCard/34 slot, AirPort Extreme, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire “400” and “800” ports, two USB 2.0 ports, optical digital audio in/out, and DVI out.

Internally, these models boasted advanced architecture with enhancements such as a faster frontside bus (800 MHz), increased RAM capacity (up to 4 GB), an improved graphics processor (NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT), and enhanced power management. Notably, the dynamically adjustable frontside bus, combined with the LED display on 15-inch models, contributed to approximately an extra hour of estimated battery life. The 15-inch systems also featured a slightly faster dual-layer SuperDrive (8X).

Starting November 1, 2007, Apple provided an option to configure this model with a 2.6 GHz “Core 2 Duo” (T7800) processor for an additional $250.

The later iteration of this MacBook Pro introduced a 2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7800 processor, 15.4″ TFT Display, 2 GB of RAM, 160 GB hard drive, slot-loading 8x DVD-R/CD-RW dual-layer SuperDrive, built-in Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, FireWire 400 and 800, iSight camera, ambient light sensor, illuminated keyboard, and 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics in the base model.

The Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch Late 2007 model was discontinued on February 26, 2008. Today, the MacBook Pro 15-inch Late 2007 celebrates its 16-year anniversary.
