The Smart Keyboard is an iPad Cover with a pointing device designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple since 2015 as part of the Apple Smart Keyboard series. The Keyboard was introduced on September 9, 2015, alongside the first iPad Pro 12.9-inch, released on November 11, 2015, and its price started at $169.

Later Apple introduced another two versions of the iPad Pro with 10.5-inch and 9.7-inch Displays therefore appeared as adapted versions of the Smart Keyboards and they cost respectively $159 and $149.

Smart Keyboard docks with iPad, iPad Pro, and iPad Air using the Smart Connector, a magnetic connection with three pins that provides data transfer and power. The keyboard features keys covered in a woven fabric, that is resistant to water and other liquids. Measuring at 4mm, the Smart Keyboard does not include external wires or Bluetooth.

This Keyboard was discontinued on May 7, 2024. Today Smart Keyboard is 8 years old!
