The system was released on July 20, 2011, and was available for $29 from the Mac App Store, on a USB thumb drive for $69, or was preinstalled on currently sold computers.
Mac OS X Lion introduced FaceTime, AirDrop, Emoji support, Mail 5, Adress Book, Address space layout randomization, Apple Push Notification Service, Auto Save, Auto-Correction, Exposé in Dock, FileVault, Finder improvements, Font Book 3, Full-screen apps, iCal and iChat updates, Launchpad, Multi-touch gestures from iOS, and many more.
This software got the last update (10.7.5) on October 4, 2012, and later was replaced by a newer version OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Today Mac OS X 10.7 Lion is 13 years old!
